I did a pretty decent job, sticking with the plan for the week I supported shift work. However vacation was a whole different story. We drove up to Sunriver Oregon for a family reunion. While I was there, my training consisted of 2.5 mile run to starbucks, walk until my starbucks cup is empty and then finish the rest of the distance running back to the house and a 9 mile single gear beach cruiser ride with my parents.
Saturday was the Pacific Crest Long Course, and I got to see the 1st place female cross finish line in just 4 hrs 46 min and 37 seconds. I'm thinking my time in September will be almost doubled that. Jumping into the fun, I decided to sign up for 10k, while my mom and sister in law signed up for the 5k. Overall, I was a little disappointed in my 10k time, but finished with a time, close to what I was expecting. On Monday instead of running, Duane and I decided to go hiking. Then Tuesday and Wednesday were spent sitting in the car heading home. I spent the the rest of this week trying to get back on track with the training plan. The training plan, lists the activity by time and not by distance. So for my longer distance days, I'm up to 1 hr swim, 2:15 hrs of biking, and 1:20 of running. Which roughly correlates to (1.4 miles of swimming, 30 miles of biking, and 7 miles of running). I can definitely tell I'm out of biking shape. I think that is the area I'm going to really need to focus and push myself on. As for swimming, I'm already at the distance; I have horrible technique and don't see myself getting any faster. Just need to focus on the form and attempting to be more efficient. Running should be easier, but right now I'm really struggling with motivation.
10 more weeks to go. Hoping to find my spark in these upcoming training weeks.
